Teacher Diaries: Staff Night Out
Every once in a while, teachers get to have a bit of fun, and one event that my co-workers and I have been attending is the annual Volleyball Winter Social with our Toronto Elementary Catholic Teachers' Union sub-unit. This year, we skipped out on the 'volleyball' aspect of the event since a few of the usual team members are expecting bundles of joy (one in a few weeks, another in April, and the final baby in June). Instead, we all attended the dinner and dance portion. I had 6 of my lovely female co-workers/friends come over to my place after work on Friday to get ready, and spend some quality time together over some wine, cheese, and munchies. There was a lot of dancing, good food, laughing, and fun -- all well deserved after first term reports and parent-teacher interviews! Too bad it's back to the grind, Monday!
